BTEC Yr 2

Making a Short Film

My film is a drama called 'Putting Your Face on' and follows the journey of a teenage girl who is considered 'Miss Popularity' due to her happy exterior however what is happening on the inside is quite to opposite.

Music Magazine

We also created our own Music magazine covers and double page spread. For this task we had to create a music magazine that was aimed at youth and also filled a gap in the market. To fill a gap in the market our magazines needed a unique selling point. My unique selling point was that there was not a music magazine that focused on the lives, music and fashion of LGBTQ+ artists. Making this magazine was alot of fun as we got to create complete everything from the celebrity characters, to the logos and the content in the magazine. I also made a design of what the online version of the magazine would look like as the audience of the magazine are digital natives and an online version would appeal to them. For this task we also embarked on specific research into previous magazines and their covers, while also designing our own logo and masthead for the magazine.
The entire process was completed using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
(More detail about the process on my BTEC Media Blog)

Recreating the opening sequence of 'Reservoir Dogs'.

For this task we recreated shot for shot the opening sequence from the film 'Reserviour Dogs'. this was to help us get a taste of what the production and post-production periods of mediaa creation is like.

Social Awareness Campaign

One of the projects we started in the course was to create our own social awareness campaign about a topic of out choice. The campaigns had to be suitable for schools and had to appeal to students.
I chose to explore and campaign about the importance of safety for the LGBTQ+ community in schools,
As part of the project we embarked on research through many methods such as surveys and research into existing campaigns and that work can be seen on my BTEC Media blog (Link above).
As part of the campaign we made posters, videos and social media pages for our organisation.
The entire process was completed using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premier Pro
